Launch site Alcântara Space Center
Date and time
Brazil's Alcântara Launch Center, two degrees south of the equator, gets more from the Earth's spin than almost any other site. Brazil's own VLS-1 never reached orbit, and in 2003 one exploded on the pad; today foreign companies such as Korea's Innospace fly from here.
