SUMMARY:🚀 Electron | PolSIR-1 – NET June 2027
LOCATION:Unknown Pad\, Rocket Lab Launch Complex 1\, Mahia Peninsula\, New
 Zealand
DESCRIPTION:Rocket Lab · Electron\nWatch: https://www.youtube.com/results?
 search_query=Electron+%7C+PolSIR-1+launch+live\n\nThe PoISIR (Polarized Su
bmillimeter Ice-cloud Radiometer) mission will help provide a better under
standing of ice clouds that form at high altitudes throughout tropical and
  subtropical regions.
\n
\nConsisting of two small satellites\, both of Po
 ISIR’s 16U CubeSats have a scientific instrument designed to measure a s
pecific spectrum of electromagnetic radiation\, which will determine how t
he amount of ice in tropical clouds rises and falls during the day\, as we
ll as how the ice changes connect to larger storms. The instruments also w
ill help determine how ice clouds affect sunlight and heat radiation throu
 ghout the day.
\n
\nThe pair of CubeSats will fly in orbits separated by
several hours to observe the pattern of cloud ice content changes over a d
ay. This information will help researchers make more accurate weather pred
 ictions.
